“Through my personal experience, and the experiences of the people I have had the opportunity to help so far, I know that everything happens for a reason. The lack of wellness and its restoration are both the results of the choices we have made in the past and we make now. For all of us at Wellnessence, sharing this awareness is as important as the medicines we give and the therapies we suggest. For us, healing is not one-way, it involves continuous sharing and learning.”
– Dr Tamanna Chellani Chief Consultant, Therapies and Operations
M.D (Hom.). Homoeopathic Consultant and Counsellor. Qualified in: Past Life Regression, Inner Child Healing, Rebirthing Breathwork, Graphology, Family Constellation Healing, Telepathic Animal Communication.
Tamanna had taken to writing poems and stories right from the time she was in school. She was interested in becoming a doctor, but lost interest in the idea later. However, her family persisted. They had always relied on Homoeopathy. That exposure and the lack of any inhibition about living alone in a new city brought her to Pune.
Dr Tamanna graduated from Dhondumama Sathe Homoeopathic Medical College, Pune, in 1996. “I fell in love with the Organon of Medicine and the Philosophy of Homoeopathic Medicine. When I got out, I was sure that Homoeopathy was the right path for me.”
She went on to complete her Post-Graduate Course in Principles and Practice of Homoeopathy at the Institute of Clinical Research. This gave her the confidence to start her own practice.
“During my internship in Mumbai, I had the privilege of observing and working with some very senior practitioners. Each had his own style; each provided me the opportunity to learn and unlearn. Two lessons have stayed with me: Every problem has a solution. And the learning never stops.”
The most interesting phase for Dr Tamanna was working in the adivasi (aboriginal) villages at Palghar (100 km from Mumbai) along with her colleagues from Dr M L Dhawale Trust. They would take multiple modes of the cheapest local transport available to reach the highway and then hitch a ride, flashing their stethoscopes, if necessary, to persuade vehicles to stop, so that they could reach the village.
“You know your patient has malaria, you know he has high fever and needs treatment. But he is not going to abandon his harvesting and come to you. So we went to the fields, gave medicines and helped with the harvesting too!”
Dr Tamanna gave up her practice in Mumbai when her family moved to Bengaluru in 2002. On behalf of the Trust, she devised and facilitated a competency training programme for fresh graduates and senior homoeopaths of the Institute of Advanced Studies in Homoeopathy in Bengaluru from 2002 to 2004. She also started her private practice in that city.
Her unending quest to unravel the mysteries of the mind and the body led her to learn several sciences. These included Transactional Analysis and Rational Emotive Behavioural Therapy. She is a certified graphologist from the Institute of Graphology, Pune. On a more conventional note, Dr Tamanna completed her M.D (Hom.) in 2008, figuring in the Merit List (Gold Medalist) of Maharashtra University of Health Sciences.
She moved with her family to Pune, the city where her professional journey in Homoeopathy had started. She continued her association with Dr M L Dhawale Trust for a short while, managing a charitable clinic. But, Dr Tamanna was in a restless state. “I had this strong feeling that I wanted do something else, something more.”
She decided to heed her inner call to help people explore the purpose of their life. She went on to learn to be a therapist in Past Life Regression, Inner Child Healing, Rebirthing Breathwork and Family Constellation Healing.
The seed of Wellnessence was sown when she joined hands with friend and colleague Dr Rahul Malushte and set up “HEALING TOUCH – Homoeopathy, Wellness & YOU” in 2010.
